In the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Sustainable Design Business, students learn the creative methods of the product design, design thinking and user interfaces. Sustainability and international business knowledge are at the core of studies.
Sustainable design business offers a world of possibilities. Graduates work as designers of products, product related services and user interfaces, and in specialist roles in various types of businesses and organisations and the manufacturing industry. They can be also employed at design and engineering companies.
The programme combines theory and practice and equips student for a range of roles in sustainable businesses and organisations. Students will also gain skills and knowledge to continue studies further towards a master’s degree.
The degree programme is carried out mainly at the LAB Institute of Design and Fine Arts, but with very close co-operation with the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in International Business.

After earning a bachelor’s degree and having two years of professional work experience, you are eligible to apply to the university of applied sciences (UAS) master’s degree programmes. You are also eligible to apply to master’s degree programmes offered by universities.

Świadectwo dojrzałości i świadectwo ukończenia szkoły wraz z tłumaczeniem przysięgłym – w przypadku ukończenia szkoły średniej nie potrzebujesz wypisu ocen – wystarczy, że do formularza aplikacyjnego załączysz Świadectwo dojrzałości wraz ze świadectwem ukończenia liceum (bądź technikum).
Spełnienie wymagań w zakresie języka angielskiego można udokumentować w jeden z następujących sposobów:
- IELTS Academic: 6.0 (nie mniej niż 5.5 z części writing)
- TOEFL iBT: 80 (nie mniej niż 20 z części writing)
- Cambridge B2 First: 170
- C1 Advanced lub C2 Proficiency: C level
The study programme has 2 rounds:
- Take a picture of a product you use frequently. Create a visual graph or illustration that represents the supposed life cycle of the product considering environmental impacts of it at each stage. Propose improvements in short bullet points or visually of how the product could be more sustainable in different stages. Add a small picture of the product into the graph. (The whole task in one A3 paper, PDF).
- Motivation letter.Why are you applying to these studies in Finland etc. (The length of the motivation letter is about 2 000 characters, PDF)

Entrance exam (interview+versatile assignments measuring the special skills needed in the field of design)
