Możliwości kariery

You will benefit from 24-hour access to dedicated studio spaces in a newly-refurbished building, as well as use of facilities equipped with cutting-edge digital technologies.

Your time will be split equally between design projects and taught modules. Design projects will enable you to prepare a digital and physical portfolio, while taught modules will develop your understanding of core academic subjects and related practical skills. Meanwhile, optional field trips to cities such as London, Copenhagen, Venice, Paris and Berlin will give you the chance to look at architecture in a new light.

The University of Reading is one of the UK’s top-ranking institutions for research in architecture, built environment and planning. The new programme will benefit from our expertise in digital practices, particularly around visualisation and 3D modelling; in sustainable cities; and in retrofit and regeneration.

The learning outcomes of the course have been designed with the needs of employers in mind, and with a view to enhancing the employability of our graduates. You will have the chance to boost your employability throughout your studies, with the chance to work on local projects and to carry out ‘live’ design tasks at the conceptual stage for real clients. By working with students from other disciplines, such as surveying and construction management, you will also gain experience essential to the professional environment and will benefit from wider expertise.

The Architects Registration Board (ARB) has prescribed our BSc (Hons) Architecture degree under the Architects Act 1997. Additionally, we are in the process of applying for RIBA validation.

The Architects Registration Board (ARB) has prescribed our BSc (Hons) Architecture degree under the Architects Act 1997.

Additionally, we are in the process of obtaining accreditation of the new programme by relevant organisations. Our Foundation Professor, Lorraine Farrelly, frequently chairs validation panels for the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Gaining a degree in Architecture will open up a wide range of global career opportunities. As a BSc (Hons) Architecture graduate you could work as an architectural assistant and, after further training, an architect.
