A large multinational wants to tap into a new market in Brazil. You give the management advice on marketing. Or a mobile phone manufacturer wants to relocate some of its production to Eastern Europe. You research the options and write a business plan.
As an international business manager you can advise on all sorts of business matters. Like communication, marketing, trade, sales or finance. You approach international business issues from various perspectives and resolve them.
You are open-minded about other cultures and you have an international scope. You are independent, but a team player at the same time. And you are adventurous and self-motivated. You take an interest in international businesses, how they are organised and how they can improve.
The programme International Business
You will acquire broad knowledge of international management, marketing, organisations and finance. And you will develop relevant professional skills, such as intercultural teamwork, planning, leadership and business communication. We maintain close contact with the professional world. The study programme is taught in English.
Upon completion of the course, you will be granted the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).
Features of this study programme
With more than 40 nationalities represented, our community is truly international. Both students and lecturers come from the Netherlands and abroad. Our approach is personal. You will work in small groups and have your own personal coach.
You will spend at least 2 semesters of 6 months each abroad, either on work placements in year 2 and 4 or on a semester exchange in year 3. You may also choose to take a double degree.

With your Bachelor of Business Administration degree, the whole world will be open to you. 78% of IB alumni found their first job within 3 months. 87% of those in employment work for companies operating internationally in a wide variety of business sectors. They work mainly in Marketing (24%), Sales (19%), Accounting / Finance (18%) and Logistics (8%).
Business development officer
You create strategic plans and formulate action plans for new business ventures. You concentrate on finding new business and expanding current business into new local, regional, national or international markets.
You are responsible for establishing and maintaining relations with business customers as well as for concluding transactions. You develop the strategic and tactical plans for sales.
You promote the company's products or services and bring them to the attention of (potential) customers.
You buy products in the Netherlands, find buyers for these products abroad and ensure that the products are delivered abroad.
You advise clients on how to invest their money. You make corresponding investments in a variety of areas, including the stock market, bonds, commodity futures and currency.
Communications Officer You help implement the communication policy aimed at internal and external target groups. You are responsible for communicating the company's activities effectively. You know how to reach the different target groups.
Trade marketing representative
You are involved with the sales outlets of an organisation and responsible for ensuring that products are stocked and distributed optimally. You generate volume and collect market information.
Human resource manager
You are involved with the recruitment and selection of new staff. And with the personal development of employees. You also deal with restructuring measures or mass redundancies, employment terms and salaries, and the work environment.
