Data Science is about creating value from data. Learn to analyze the large amounts of data that today’s society operates on. Discover trends and patterns that are relevant for businesses, government agencies, or nonprofit organizations. This program not only focuses on the technical side, but also on the legal, social, ethical, and business aspects of Data Science. This multidisciplinary approach makes the program unique. Data Science is offered jointly by Tilburg University and Eindhoven University of Technology.
This joint bachelor brings together the best of two universities; Tilburg University's expertise in Econometrics, Business Administration and Law is combined with Eindhoven University of Technology's expertise in Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering. Both universities add their expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Statistics. You will be taking courses at both universities.

What can you do after Data Science?
With your English-taught Bachelor Data Science you could work as a data scientist in international jobs. You'll find new markets and opportunities with data. You are someone who translates questions within an organization to technical data issues and vice versa. You also can work as a data entrepreneur, with your own data science company. Or as a specialist within a larger company.
Because data science is used in many industries you can be employed in a wide range of companies and non-profit/governmental institutions. For example: companies want to know more about the purchase behavior of their customers, the police uses big data to detect crime and health care shares global data in order to do better research to rare diseases.
After the Master: Career opportunities
The career opportunities for data scientists are sheer endless. According to a Harvard study, the profession of Data Scientist is the ‘sexiest job’ of the 21st century. Meaning the skills that you will have as a data scientist are in exceptionally high demand.
Not only in the Netherlands, but also worldwide the number of Data Scientist vacancies is growing exponentially.
A career as a data scientist
Within an organization, you are the one who translates questions into technical data insights and vice versa. You can work for multinationals or manage your own data science company: finding new markets and opportunities with data.
Or you can work as a data consultant or analyst: from advising companies who want to know more about the purchasing behavior of their customers, to using big data to support police crime detection work, to helping healthcare institutes share global data to fight diseases like Malaria.
