Ancient History, BA (Hons)
Warfare, Politics and Gender were key issues of the ancient world, just as they are today. Ancient History offers the study of the Greek and Roman worlds, including history, philosophy, archaeology and art, to shed light on the ancient civilisations that have shaped our modern world. Single Honours Ancient History recently achieved an overall satisfaction rating of 100% in the National Student Survey (NSS).
Key Features
- A UNIQUE STUDY EXPERIENCE IN THE UK! New students who are admitted to our BA programmes will be offered Centenary Graduate Scholarships to reward academic achievement. The Excellence and Merit scholarships will be available to EU, UK and International students who have completed a full-time three or four year BA programme, achieved a 2:1 or above, and gained a place on a one-year full-time Taught Masters programme in the College.
- BA students who graduate with a 1st class degree will automatically receive a full tuition fee Excellence scholarship for the MA year.
- BA students who graduate with a 2:1 degree will automatically receive a Merit scholarship and pay £1,000 fees for the MA year.
- In the second year, students can take module Ancient and Historic Places, a study trip or field project focusing on a specific region or place.
- Ancient History students can take a work-placement through the “Literacy through Latin” project.
- Ancient History students can gain teaching experience by leading workshops for the South West Wales Reaching Wider Partnership.
- Students have the option of a semester abroad in Europe, Hong Kong or the USA.
- Our students have a personal tutor who provides pastoral support and guidance on issues that may affect their well-being, attendance and progress through University.
- The student Society of Ancient Studies organises social and cultural events.
- Students are actively involved in voluntary archaeological digs nationally and internationally.

Średnia z matury: 70%-85% (z uwzględnieniem przynajmniej dwóch przedmiotów na poziomie rozszerzonym). Dodatkowe wymagania dotyczące matury są zależne od wybranego kierunku.
Świadectwo ukończenia drugiej klasy (liceum) lub trzeciej klasy (technikum) – załącz ten dokument jeśli wciąż się uczysz i dlatego nie masz jeszcze świadectwa ukończenia szkoły średniej. Nie musisz załączać tłumaczenia tego dokumentu.
Świadectwo dojrzałości oraz świadectwo ukończenia szkoły średniej – w przypadku ukończenia szkoły średniej wystarczy, że do formularza aplikacyjnego załączysz świadectwo dojrzałości (maturalne) wraz ze świadectwem ukończenia liceum (bądź technikum) - do obu tych dokumentów potrzebne jest też tłumaczenie przysięgłe.
Ważne jest, by uczelnia otrzymała wyniki testu z języka angielskiego do 31 lipca.
Spełnienie wymagań w zakresie języka angielskiego można udokumentować w następujący sposób:
IELTS - 6.0
TOEFL – 80
rozszerzona matura z języka angielskiego na przynajmniej 70%
