What will you learn?
As digital technology takes over all areas of our life, new programmers are needed in inventing and creating the applications. Programming requires logical thinking, understanding users and patience. Creating large applications is always teamwork. In Computer Applications, we will use different environments from web pages and systems to mobile apps and games.
Artificial Intelligence is a popular way to process different kinds of data from business data to Big Data. For large data sets, cloud services are often used. Server operating systems are a part of the studies that provide you with skills you can apply to many different programming jobs all over the world.
3.5 year degree programme
The core competence studies in Computer applications cover a wide range of topics in programming. You will learn programming languages and techniques most commonly used today. Studies include also e.g. user interface design, operating systems, web development, databases, cloud operations, software robotics, business and innovation, probability and statistics. After this, you will select studies according to your own interests and focus e.g. on augmented reality, artificial intelligence or big data. It will also be possible to select profiling studies from other degree programmes.

By completing the Computer Applications degree programme, you become a professional programmer fit to work in the modern business world and ready for the modern ICT challenges. During your studies you will work in connection to real life workplaces and companies, and by the time of graduation you have an extensive network and practical skills to apply to many different programming jobs all over the world.
Learning environments and methods
Learning by doing is our motto, and technology is highly involved in all of the studies. Students enjoy our campus environment, which is modern, safe and comfortable.
For a computer applications student having an own laptop is essential. Lectures are usually recorded on video and contact lessons focus on practical work and guidance. Module assignments, materials and timetables are provided online. Many applications, programs and environments used in the studies are provided through virtual computers.
Wypis ocen (wypełniony komputerowo) – jeśli wciąż się uczysz i dlatego nie masz jeszcze świadectwa ukończenia szkoły średniej, bardzo ważne jest załączenie wypisu. Szczegółowe informacje na temat sposobu wypełniania tego dokumentu oraz termin jego przesłania znajdziesz tutaj.
Świadectwo dojrzałości – w przypadku ukończenia szkoły średniej nie potrzebujesz wypisu ocen – wystarczy, że do formularza aplikacyjnego załączysz Świadectwo dojrzałości wraz ze świadectwem ukończenia liceum (bądź technikum).
Uwaga: Zarówno osoby, które ukończyły szkołę średnią oraz te, które aplikują w ostatniej klasie szkoły średniej wybierane są na podstawie wyników w nauce, czyli świadectwa ukończenia szkoły średniej i dojrzałości bądź wypisu ocen i certyfikatu językowego.
Spełnienie wymagań w zakresie języka angielskiego można udokumentować w jeden z następujących sposobów:
- ocena z języka angielskiego na Świadectwie Ukończenia szkoły średniej musi być min. 4 (tylko dla osób, które mają ukończoną szkołę średnią w momencie aplikacji)
- IELTS: 6.0
- TOEFL Internet-based: 60
- Cambridge C1 Advanced lub C2 Proficiency - 169
- test SAT
Przyjęcie do HAMK odbywa się na jeden z dwóch sposobów:
- Studenci są wybierani na podstawie ich wykształcenia
Kandydat może zostać przyjęty na podstawie świadectwa ukończenia szkoły średniej/wypisu ocen, gdzie ocena z matematyki to co najmniej 4;
- Wyniki testu SAT
Uczniowie, którzy nie spełniają wymagań dotyczących ocen, mogą przystąpić do testu SAT. Wyniki testu należy przesłać wraz z formularzem zgłoszeniowym.
Minimalny wynik wymagany przez HAMK to 500 punktów z części czytania i pisania oraz mówienia, a także 500 punktów z matematyki.
