Możliwości kariery

Chartered Architectural Technologists lead the technological design within architecture. Our Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) accredited course explores the science of architecture. Learn to turn design concept into reality where passive design, innovation and performance are key drivers. Explore the principles of practice management, rationalized architectural design and how to lead projects from residential to commercial. You will learn to play a pivotal role in the design and construction process. This course has been validated to include an optional Sandwich Placement year in industry.

For more information about Sandwich Placement opportunities, please contact the Placements Team.

Our course focuses on the link between building design and production, and gives you the technical understanding needed to bridge the two.

Architectural technology has three major themes: technology, design, and procurement and contracts. Our course will give you the skills you need to practise successfully in each area, and a thorough understanding of scientific, technological and organisational principles.

Focusing on the relationships between materials, function, production and the environment, our course will help you to think about buildings in terms of ‘buildability’, sustainability and performance. You’ll learn to appreciate detailed design and production information, including regulatory issues, and how they relate to procurement and contract administration. You’ll also explore social, legal and economic considerations.

You’ll cover business and management, professional practice and contract administration. This will prepare you to contribute to the running of a successful practice.

Site visits and study trips will develop your understanding of the sector and connect you with industry. You’ll also learn to use practical and digital modelling and testing techniques to turn designs into reality. At our end-of-year Architecture and Planning Exhibition, you’ll have the chance to display your work to the public.

Our course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists, and is designated as a Construction Industries Board course in the built environment.

Wymagania rekrutacyjne

Ważne jest, by uczelnia otrzymała wyniki testu z języka angielskiego do 31 lipca.

Spełnienie wymagań w zakresie języka angielskiego można udokumentować w następujący sposób:

  • Rozszerzona matura z języka angielskiego – 70%

  • IELTS - 6.0

  • TOEFL – 80

As an expert in the technical side of architectural design, you’ll be ready to work in traditional architecture and construction roles. This might involve managing building projects, making sure that budgets and deadlines are met, the correct materials are used, and regulations are satisfied.

Alternatively, you might take up opportunities in manufacturing and processing, management, health, or government institutions.

Graduation doesn’t need to be the end of your time with us. If you’d like to continue your studies, we offer a wide range of full-time and part-time postgraduate courses including MSc Urban Design and MSc Town Planning.
