I had known since my early years of Secondary School that I wanted to study abroad. However, I never imagined that the Netherlands would become my destination.

My decision to apply was quite spontaneous, but it turned out to be one of the best choices I could have made.

As an introvert, I naturally worried about moving to another country. I was unsure how I would adapt to a different culture and whether I would be able to make new friends.

Leaving everything familiar behind felt intimidating. I knew I would have to communicate in another language, meet new people, and build my everyday life from the beginning.

But after only one week, I already knew that I was in the right place.

I found myself surrounded by interesting, sincere, and welcoming people. The fear of not fitting in gradually disappeared, and the new environment began to feel exciting rather than overwhelming.

I am now looking forward to spending at least the next three years here and discovering everything that this experience can offer.

Studying abroad is not only about receiving an education in another country. It is also an opportunity to understand yourself better, become more independent, and discover how capable you are outside your familiar surroundings.

You do not need to be the most outgoing person in the room to build meaningful friendships abroad. You only need to remain open, take small steps, and give people the opportunity to know you.

My advice to anyone who is hesitating is simple: step outside your comfort zone and go for it.

There may never be a perfect moment when you feel completely ready. Sometimes you need to take the opportunity while it is in front of you.

This stage of life is one of the best times to try new things, meet people with different perspectives, and discover who you want to become.

Studying abroad can feel frightening before you leave, but it may quickly become the place where you finally feel you belong.
