For a long time, I could not decide whether to stay in my home country or study abroad. In the end, I chose to take the opportunity because I believed an international education would give me broader career prospects, new friendships, language skills, and valuable life experience.
I chose the Netherlands because I had always been interested in the country and its people. The international atmosphere, open-minded culture, and strong education system made it feel like the right place for me.
The admission process was much easier than I had expected. My motivation letter played an important role in the university’s decision, but preparing the other documents was straightforward. The Kastu team guided me through the entire process, answered all my questions, and made sure I understood what to do next.
I submitted my application near the end of autumn and received my admission offer shortly before Christmas. Getting the decision so early gave me plenty of time to prepare for my studies and the new chapter ahead.
Today, I am very happy with my university choice. One of the things I appreciate most is the relationship between lecturers and students. Lecturers treat us as equals, communicate openly, and are always ready to listen or help.
My programme includes a lot of group work, which made it easy to get to know my classmates from the very first days. Working together also helps you become more confident, share ideas, and learn from people with different experiences.
Before arriving, I was worried about my English. However, with time, I became much more comfortable and realised that many lecturers and students are also communicating in a language that is not their first. You do not need perfect English to begin. Your confidence improves naturally when you use it every day.
If you are deciding between staying at home and studying abroad, my advice is to seriously consider taking the international path.
At first, leaving your comfort zone may feel difficult, but once you take that step, your life can change completely. You will become more independent, meet people from all over the world, and discover opportunities you might never have found otherwise.
Take the challenge and give yourself the chance to experience it.
